Webinars with real value (and CEU credits)

I run a series of live webinars each year for architects who want more than just checking a box.

Yes, you’ll earn your CEU credits.

But these sessions are built to give you something more useful — clearer thinking around façade systems, practical insight you can apply to real projects, and a better understanding of how things actually get built.

They’re interactive, question-driven, and grounded in real-world challenges — not product pitches.

To date, we’ve issued over 2,000 learning certificates, and many of these sessions have led to deeper conversations and real project work.

If you’re working through façade decisions and want sharper answers, you’re in the right place.

10 Things UHPC Facades Can Do That Conventional Precast Cannot

Architects love concrete façades, but conventional precast often comes with trade-offs: weight, finish variability, thermal limitations, and design constraints.

Originally developed for demanding infrastructure applications, Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC) has evolved into an extraordinary façade material: thin, lightweight, durable, and highly refined.

Unlike conventional precast, UHPC is a precision architectural skin capable of refined textures, consistent finishes, deep articulation, and modern rainscreen integration.

This webinar explores ten meaningful differences between UHPC and conventional precast, including weight, finish consistency, retrofit suitability, thermal flexibility, and compatibility with modern prefabricated wall systems.

Join us as we examine where UHPC fits, where conventional precast still excels, and why architects and façade consultants are increasingly paying attention.

Mahmoud Al Fayez, President of Petra Design will join me.

Re-Cladding & Restoration: From Refresh to Energy Retrofit

10 Things UHPC Facades Can Do That Conventional Precast Cannot

10 Things UHPC Facades Can Do That Conventional Precast Cannot

Re-cladding and retrofit are becoming the default strategy for aging buildings.
Across industrial, commercial, and institutional assets, owners are under pressure—extend building life, improve performance, and reposition appearance without full redevelopment.
Too often, projects default to familiar systems without fully considering constructability, risk, and long-term performance.

This session outlines a practical framework for approaching re-cladding using rainscreen systems.
We’ll break projects into three drivers—aesthetic transformation, failure remediation, and performance upgrades—and show how each leads to different technical solutions.

Expect a technical discussion grounded in real projects, with methods you can apply immediately.

This will be a special 2 hour event, taking the right time for a deep dive.

Dekton: Simple, Integrated, and Iconic Facades

Steni: The Norwegian Army Knife of Cladding

For over 60 years in Canada, Steni has quietly solved an extraordinary range of building-envelope challenges across schools, industrial buildings, commercial projects, recladding, retrofit, and new construction.

Most façade systems solve a narrow problem. Steni stretches across foundations, façades, roofs, recladding, and retrofit while fitting an unusually wide range of building types.

This webinar explores why experienced building-envelope teams keep coming back to the system, where it truly fits, and how it supports aesthetics, remediation, and high-performance retrofit strategies through real-world applications, detailing, and lessons learned.

U-Kon: From Simple to Passive: Learn from the Experts in Subsystems

Dekton: Simple, Integrated, and Iconic Facades

Dekton is one of the few façade materials that works across many building types. Today we’ll look at three things: simple and cost-effective 8 mm façade systems, integrated applications in curtain wall and prefabricated wall systems, and how architects around the world are using Dekton to create bold, iconic buildings.

CERACLAD: Become More Competitive in Mid-Rise Facade Design

U-Kon: From Simple to Passive: Learn from the Experts in Subsystems

U-Kon: From Simple to Passive: Learn from the Experts in Subsystems

Mid-rise is accelerating but cost pain creates the most competitive marketplace. Architects need to compete as a firm, a practice and even as an individual. Fibre cement will be explained in the portfolio of facade choices, with a laser focus on cost.

For all types of cladding, the subsystem is key in excellent design. It needs to be cost effective, constructable and meet ever increasing performance requirements. The integrated background in excellent design, and pre-designed systems can be configured from the simple, say 4” of insulation on flat wall, to passive or complex, consider 10” of insulation or with a stone facade of unique shape. The U-Kon / FSI expertise knows how.

Petra: Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) – Play-Doh for Architects

Petra: Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) – Play-Doh for Architects

Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) is freedom in façade design. Curves, textures, depth, and form—if you can imagine it, you can build it. Think playdough for architects: a material that turns bold ideas into physical reality.

Used globally for decades, GFRC brings sculptural expression within reach—without the cost and complexity many assume.

This session explores how it actually comes together—from concept to molds to finished panels—and where it fits across real projects.

Expect inspiration backed by practical know-how, with examples you can apply immediately.

We don't know where you wil lgo with this, but we do know we can get you there.
