I love doing webinars, and cycling.

A real big thank you for your support. Since Jan 1 you have joined me in webinar learning to the order of 700+ attendees and over 200+ multiple times.

I am very humbled by the confidence you have put in me. Why do I think there is confidence, not just showing up for a webinar for points?

  • great questions.
  • almost the whole audience stays past the allotted time.
  • you help me during the presentation to be sure you can see what I want you to see.

So again thank you. Feel free to contact me to discuss what you are seeing, questions you might have, or ideas to share.

Why wouldn't you want colour? Steni FRP.

Terra Cotta Facades. Look Expensive But They're Not

School in Calgary, custom school colours, affordably.

Why wouldn't you want colour? Basic shading, to wild and fanciful. We need it. Did you notice the colour that has enhanced our street scape recently. We can get there. We will investigate this important area.

We want to provide something novel too: reuse. Have you thought about building a facade, and in the future taking those panels off and reusing them on a new or revised facade? Let's think about that.

And sustainability, embedded carbon.

And back to colour.

Steni is a FRP with a crushed limestone core, making a 6mm panel very strong. It has been in Canada for over 60 years, has a 60 year warranty, has stone, matte, gloss and supergloss finishes, and offers custom graphics and colours to take your design to a whole new level - affordably.

We will cover case studies in schools, mid rise and commercial projects.

Joseph D`Élia of Steni will join me.

Terra Cotta Facades. Look Expensive But They're Not

Terra Cotta Facades. Look Expensive But They're Not

Terra Cotta or Extruded Ceramic has been around for decades. Of course fired clay is timeless. FSI represents Argeton, the world's largest terra cotta system provider. People assume it must be expensive if it looks so amazing. But savings in waste and cost to install result in a very affordable solution.

I have been wondering how it could replace the ubiquitous aluminum. Now carbon footprint issues might just drive that.

Let's talk about that. But there are a lot of choices that add significantly to design freedom. Size, shape, colour, glaze or no glaze, special effects, panels, baguettes or barros... you name it. These 'brushes' in your palette mean you can get what you want at affordable prices.

The learning objectives are:

  • Understand how Terra Cotta panels are made
  • Talk about embedded carbon
  • Explore shapes, sizes, finishes etc.
  • Explain how terra cotta systems are ordered
  • Learn how construction works
  • Learn how fabrication works
  • Learn what makes a successful project
  • Case studies

When you think of fibre cement I bet you are thinking about flat sheets that have about 25 colours. Not.

We'll explore Ceraclad because it is a system, has hundreds of textures and colours, and is amazingly affordable

The webinar will cover

  • What is fibre cement and what it is not.
  • Where does Ceraclad fit in the landscape of fibre cement and facade materials in general.
  • Explain 'system'
  • Go over layout choices [and touch on colours]
  • Case studies
  • Q&A
